Pasig River imposibleng malinis ayon kay Pangulong Duterte
Naniniwala si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na imposibleng maibalik pa ang dating ganda ng Pasig River.
Sa talumpati sa harap ng mga bagong talagang opisyal sa Malacañang, sinabi ng pangulo na tapunan na ng dumi ng Metro Manila ang ilog panahon pa ng mga Español.
Paglipas pa anya ng mga taon, lahat ng dumi mula sa mga pabrika at bahay ay dumidiretso sa Pasig River kaya’t imposible nang malinis pa ito.
“Over the years, ang labasan ng mga factory, mga bahay, lahat, Pasig River. O how you can clean that? Unless you build new cities outside at mag-migrate and there’s a lessening of you know, people here, maybe you can start. But you can start with the factories. They are all chemicals there,” ayon kay Duterte.
Kasabay nito, sinabi ng presidente na bubuwagin niya ang Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) at ililipat sa ilalim ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
“Kaya itong commission sa Pasig tanggalin ko na ito, place it under (DENR Sec. Roy) Cimatu sa DENR. (You’re) just paying people with… useless. Hindi mo malinis talaga ‘yan,” dagdag ni Duterte.
Magugunitang sinibak ni Duterte sa pwesto noong nakaraang linggo si PRRC executive director Jose Antonio Goitia dahil sa alegasyon ng korapsyon.
Ang PRRC ay nabuo sa ilalim ni dating Pangulong Joseph Estrada para pangunahan ang rehabilitasyon ng makasaysayang ilog.
