Sen. Go: Pang. Duterte iginiit ang Code of Conduct sa mga opisyal ng Chinese communist party
Sa gitna ng pagmamatigas ng China ukol sa pagkilala sa karapatan ng Pilipinas sa mga teritoryo nito sa rehiyon, iginiit pa rin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagkakaroon ng Code of Conduct (COC) sa West Philippine Sea o South China Sea.
Ayon kay Senator Bong Go, inihayag ng pangulo ang halaga ng COC sa mga opisyal ng Communist Party of China (CPC) na nag courtesy call sa kanya.
Lunes ng gabi nang nakipag-pulong ang pangulo kay Chongqing party chief Chen Min’er at ibang miyembro ng CPC sa Palasyo.
Ayon sa senador, sinabihan ng pangulo ang naturang mga opisyal na kailangan bilisan ang Code of Conduct sa rehiyon.
“The President emphasized the need to fast track the Asean-China Code of Conduct in the South China Sea so everybody will be put at ease and for everyone to know what routes to follow and what alleys to avoid when sailing,” pahayag ni Go sa media sa Senado.
Matatandaan na sa huling pagbisita ni Duterte sa China noong Agosto ay nagkasundo sila ni President Xi Jinping na bilisan ang negosasyon para maisapinal na ang COC.
Samantala, sa pulong ng pangulo sa CPC officials ay present din si Go pero sinabi nito na hindi napag-usapan ang joint oil exploration ng Pilipinas at China.
