Kamara nasa kalahati na sa pagtalakay ng 2020 budget ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno
Nangangalahati na ang Kamara sa pagtalakay sa proposed budgets ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno isang linggo matapos simulan ang deliberasyon sa 2020 General Appropriations Bill sa plenaryo.
Sa unang apat na araw pa lang ay tatlumpu’t siyam na departamento, ahensya at government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) o 54 percent mula sa kabuuang pitumpu’t dalawang tanggapan ang natapos nang sumalang sa interpelasyon.
Ayon kay House Senior Deputy Majority Leader Jesus Crispin Remulla, nakatulong ang ideya ni Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano na magsagawa ng pre-plenary meetings kung saan iginiit na ng mga kongresista ang district concerns kaya pagdating sa plenaryo ay puro polisiya at budget allocations na lang ng mga ahensya ang tinatalakay.
Pinuri rin ni Remulla ang maayos na pag-baton nina Majority Leader Martin Romualdez at Appropriations Committee Chairman Isidro Ungab para tiyaking hindi mapapahaba ang debate dahil sa mga hindi mahalaga at paulit-ulit na tanong.
Kabilang sa mga ahensyang na-terminate na ang period of interpellation sa plenaryo ay ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Justice (DoJ) at Department of Health (DoH).
Target ng Kamara na tapusin ang budget deliberations sa Biyernes, September 20 upang maaprubahan ang 2020 GAB bago mag-break sa October 4.
