“All-lady cops” police station sinimulan ng PNP sa Siquijor
Inilunsand ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang kauna-unahang police station sa bansa na tatauhan ng mga policewomen.
Ang nasabing police station ay matatagpuan sa bayan ng Maria sa lalawigan ng Siquijor na kung saan ang mga opisyal at mga tauhan ay tatawaging “Mariang Pulis”.
Ipinaliwanag ng liderato ng PNP na ang nasabing inisyatibo ay mula sa kay PNP Region 7 Director Gen. Debold Sinas.
Ayon kay Sinas, “This move will strongly advance women empowerment in promoting public safety and security services at all levels of police units and offices in the region.”
Sa kabuuan ay aabot sa 21 lady cops ang itinalaga sa nasabing himpilan ng PNP.
Sumailalim ang mga ito sa mahigpit na pagsasanay tulad ng firearms shooting, investigation, driving at martial arts.
