PNP: Bilang ng sumukong heinous crime convicts umabot na sa 299

Umakyat na sa 299 ang bilang ng heinous crime convicts na napalaya dahil sa kontrobersyal na Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) Law ayon sa pinakahuling datos ng Philippine National Police (PNP) araw ng Huwebes, Sept. 12.

Pinakamarami ang sumukong convicts sa MIMAROPA na may 48 at sinundan ng Cagayan Valley, 35.

Sa kabuuang bilang ng surrenderees, 101 ang convicted dahil sa murder, 95 ay convicted sa rape at 29 ang convicted sa robbery with homicide.

Animnapu’t tatlo sa heinous crime convicts ay nai-turn over na sa Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) na nagpalaya sa kanila.

Ayon kay PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, ilan sa mga convicts ay nasa kustodiya pa ng pulisya dahil ilan sa mga rehiyon ay malayo sa New Bilibid Prison.

Nasa 2,000 heinous crime convicts ang pinakawalan simula taong 2014 dahil sa GCTA na naging kontrobersyal matapos mapag-alamang kasama sa nakatakdang palayain ang rapist at murderer na si Antonio Sanchez.
