Joma Sison nanindigan na hindi siya mapipilit na pabalikin sa Pilipinas

Nanindigan si Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison na hindi siya mapipilit na mapabalik sa Pilipinas.

Sa gitna ito ng arrest order na inilabas ng Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 32 kaugnay ng “Inopacan massacre” sa Leyte noong 1985.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ni Sison na tila hindi naiintindihan ni Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano ang “political refugee” status sa The Netherlands.

Ipinaliwanag pa niya na pinoprotektahan siya ng Geneva Refugee Convention at ng European Convention on Human Rights.

“As a recognized [political refugee] I am well protected by the Geneva Refugee Convention and by the European Convention on Human Rights whose Article 3 gave me absolute protection from being put at any risk of being subjected to torture and other inhumane and cruel treatment,” ayon sa statement ni Sison.

Itinanggi din nito ang kaugnayan niya sa Inopacan massacre dahil nakakulong na aniya siya noong mangyari ito.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Ano na nakipag-ugnayan na siya sa European Union para mapawalang bisa ang refugee status ni Sison sa Netherlands at mapabalik ito sa Pilipinas para sumalang sa paglilitis.
