27 opisyal ng BuCor sinuspinde ng Ombudsman dahil sa umanoy ‘GCTA for sale’
Anim na buwang suspensyon na walang sweldo ang ipinataw ng Office of the Ombudsman sa 27 opisyal ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) dahil sa umanoy maanomalyang paglaya ng mg convicts ng heinous crimes sa ilalim ng good conduct time allowance (GCTA).
Kabilang sa mga sinuspinde sina BuCor Documents and Record Section chief Ramoncito Roque at Corrections Sr. Insp. Ma. Belinda Bandila na kapwa pinangalanan sa pagdinig sa Senado ng testigong si Yolanda Camilon na umanoy kanyang binigyan ng pera para sa paglaya ng kanyang asawang convict.
Nakasaad sa utos ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires araw ng Lunes, September 9, ang mga BuCor officials ay guilty ng “grave misconduct,” “gross neglect of duty” at “conduct prejudicial to the best interest of service.”
Ito ay dahil sa paglaya ng mahigit 1,900 na inmates na convicted sa mga karumal-dumal na kaso mula noong 2014.
Ayon sa Ombudsman, malakas na ebidensya ang mga testimonya ng mga testigo at mga dokumento na nagpapakita ng anomalya sa pagpapalaya sa mga convicts.
Bukod kina Roque at Bancil, ang iba pang opisyal ng BuCor na sinuspinde ay sina Benjamin Barrios, Gerardo Padilla, Francisco Abunales, Celco Bravo, Melencio Faustino, Cherry Caliston, Ruelito Pulmano, Emerita Peneyra, Jomar Coria, Roy Vivo, Wilfredo Bayona, Joh Edward Basi, Abel Dr. Ciruela, Roger Boncales, Eduardo Cabuhat. Dr. Lourdes Razon, Mary Lou Arbatin, Susana Ortega, Anthony Omega, Antonio Calumpit, Roberto Rabo, Jones Lanuza, Victor de Monteverde at Veronica Buño.
