Bilang ng sumukong convicts na napalaya dahil sa GCTA, umabot na sa 76 – DOJ

Umabot na sa 76 ang bilang ng mga boluntaryong sumukon na convict sa mga karumal-dumal na krimen, ayon sa Department of Justice (DOJ).

Ayon kay DOJ spokesperson at undersecretary Markk Perete, nasa 76 na convicted criminals na ang sumuko sa mga otoridad matpos mapalaya sa bisa ng Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) hanggang 12:00, Linggo ng madaling-araw.

Patuloy aniyang nakakatanggap ang kanilang opisina mula sa iba’t ibang regional office ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ng mga sumusuko pang convicts.

Ani Perete, magpupulong ang Interim Oversight Committee ng DOJ at ilang opisyal ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) para talakayin ang mekanismo at gagawing inspeksyon.

Matatandaang nasa 1,914 convicts sa heinous crimes ang napalaya ng BuCor dahil sa GCTA law.
