AFP tutulong sa pagtugis sa napalayang mga convicts
Tutulong ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa pagtugis sa mga convicts na napalaya dahil sa good conduct pero nais ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na maibalik sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Binigyan ng pangulo ng 15 araw ang mga convicts na sumuko para sa re-computation ng kanilang good conduct time allowance (GCTA).
Ayon sa militar, suportado nila ang Department of Justice (DOJ) at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa paghahanap ng napalayang NBP inmates.
“We are here, ready to render assistance and give support to the DOJ, the PNP, and other relevant agencies of government when so requested,” pahayag ng tagapagsalita ng AFP na si Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo.
Tiniyak ni Arevalo ang commitment ng militar sa ligtas na komunidad at hustisya alinsunod sa mandato ng AFP.
Ayon sa datos ng DOJ, mula 2014 ay nasa 1,914 na convicts ng karumal-dumal na mga krimen ang napalaya sa ilalim ng GCTA law.
Kapag hindi sumuko ang mga ito sa loob ng deadline na ibinigay ng pangulo ay ituturing na sila ng otoridad na mga pugante.
