Pahayag ni Panelo na apologetic si Pangulong Duterte kay Chinese Pres. Xi, hindi totoo – Locsin

Kasinungalingan ang pahayag ni Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo na apologetic si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay Chinese President Xi Jinping nang matalakay ang ruling ng Arbitral Tribunal sa isyu ng West Philippine Sea.

Sa pagharap sa budget briefing ng House Committee on Appropriations, kinontra ni Foreign Affairs Sec. Teodoro Locsin ang pahayag ni Panelo at sinabing gawa-gawa lamang ito.

Iginiit ng kalihim na laging inuungkat ng pangulo sa kanyang mga byahe sa China ang kontrobersyal base sa naging pasya ng Permanent Court of Arbitration sa The Hague.

Malinaw din anya na walang isusuko ang Pilipinas gaano man kaliit na bahagi ng teritoryo at kung dati ay magalang na pakiusap ang nilalaman ng diplomatic protests, ngayon ay direkta nang pumapalag ang pamahalaan.

Bagama’t walang masama sa pakikipagkaibigan sa ibang mga bansa, naniniwala ang opisyal na walang permanenteng kaibigan kundi puro pansariling interes kaya paninindigan nito ang independent foreign policy ng bansa.

Simula 2016, higit animnapung notes verbale na ang ipinadala ng Philippine government sa China at anim na diplomatic protests para igiit ang karapatan sa West Philippine Sea.
