Hirit na maging legal ang same-sex marriage sa bansa ibinasura ng SC

Ibinasura ng Korte Suprema ang petisyon sa same-sex marriage sa bansa.

Inihain ni Atty. Jesus Falcis III ang petisyon na nagsasabing unconsitutional ang probisyon sa Family Code of the Philippines na naglilimita sa kasal sa pagitan ng lalaki at babae.

Sa inilabas na desisyon na isinulat ni Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, ibinasura ang petisyon dahil sa lack of standing, paglapag sa heirarchy of courts at bigong paglahad ng ‘aktuwal, justiciable controversy.’

Nakasaad din sa desisyon na liable for indirect contempt si Falcis ksama sina Atty. Darwin Angeles, Atty. Keisha Trina Guanko at Atty. Christopher Ryan Maranan.

Matatandaang inihain ang petisyon ni Falcis taong 2015.

Isinagawa naman ang oral argument sa petisyon noong 2018.
