Halos 5,000 dating rebelde nakinabang sa training ng TESDA
Umakyat na sa halos 5,000 mga dating rebelde ang nabigyan ng training ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Appropriations sa panukalang 2020 bugdet ng TESDA, sinabi ni Director General Isidro Lapeña na mula 2018 hanggang July 2019 kabuuang 4,636 mga rebel returnees ang kanilang natulungan.
Ito anya ay bahagi ng counter-insurgency program ng gobyerno.
Paliwanag ng ahensya, ito ay bunsod na rin ng direktiba ng Pangulong Duterte na tulungang pagbutihin ang skills ng mga dating rebelde upang madali itong makakuha ng trabaho matapos magbalik-loob sa pamahalaan.
Bukod sa mga rebel returnees. aabot na sa mahigit 132,000 na Indigenous People at mga indibidwal mula sa cultural communities ang natutulungan ng TESDA.
Samantala, bumaba naman ng 6 na porsyento ang proposed 2020 budget ng TESDA na aabot lamang ng P11.85 billion.
