Tinanggihan ng Brazil ang alok na tulong ng G7 countries para sugpuin ang wildfire sa Amazon.

“We appreciate (the offer), but maybe those resources are more relevant to reforest Europe,” ayon kay Onyx Lorenzoni, chief of staff ni Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

Ang tinutukoy ni Lorenzoni ay ang Lorenzoni ay nag $20 million pledge ng G7 summit sa France para sugpuin ang nasabing malaking sunog.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Brazilian Environment Minister Ricardo Salles na welcome sa kanila ang G7 funding lalo’t umabot na sa 950,000 hectares (2.3 million acres) ang apektado ng forest fire.

Pero kaagad rin niyang binawi ang pahayag matapos ang pulong ng mga top officials ng Brazil.

“Brazil is a democratic, free nation that never had colonialist and imperialist practices, as perhaps is the objective of the Frenchman Macron,” dagdag pa ni Lorenzoni.

Nauna dito ay hindi nagustuhan ng pangulo ng Brazil ang komento ng pangulo ng France kaugnay sa sunog sa Amazon.
