Walang kahit isa sa 664 na empleyado ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang nagpositibo sa droga.
Ito ay matapos ang surprise at mandatory drug test na isinagawa sa mga empleyado noong Huwebes.
Ayon sa pahayag ni PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino araw ng Biyernes, negatibo sa presensya ng iligal na droga ang urine samples na kinuha sa mga opisyal at empleyado ng ahensya.
Isinasagawa anya ang surprise mandatory drug test isa hanggang dalawang beses kada taon o maaaring higit pa kapag may kahina-hinalang paggamit ng droga ang personnel.
Paliwanag ni Aquino, alinsunod ang drug test sa Section 36 (e) ng Article III ng RA 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 na nag-oobliga sa militar, pulisya at iba pang law enforcement agencies na sumailalim sa taunang mandatory drug test.
Ito na ang ikalawang mandatory and surprise drug test ng ahensya ngayong taon kung saan ang una ay naganap noong January 18.
Dapat umanong drug-free ang PDEA bilang pangunahing anti-drug law enforcement agency sa bansa.
“PDEA must be drug-free. It should be because we are the prime implementers of the anti-drug law. It establishes our credibility and moral ascendancy to lead the national anti-drug campaign,” ani Aquino.
