Ilocos Norte nagpatupad na rin ng temporary ban sa baboy at pork products
Nagpatupad na rin ng temporary ban sa pagpasok ng baboy at mga pork products ang Ilocos Norte dahil pa rin sa banta ng nakahahawang sakit sa mga hayop.
Ayon sa Executive Order na nilagdaan ni Gov. Matthew Joseph Marcos Manotoc araw ng Biyernes, epektibo ang temporary ban sa Ilocos Norte hanggang hindi pa idinedeklara ng Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) na ligtas na ang swine industry sa bansa.
Magugunitang ilang mga lalawigan na rin ang nagbawal sa pagpasok ng baboy at mga produkto mula rito dahil sa pagkamatay ng mga baboy sa Rodriguez, Rizal.
Naka-heightened alert ang buong bansa dahil sa banta ng nakamamatay na African swine fever (ASF) sa P260 bilyong pork industry ng Pilipinas.
Pero ang pagkamatay ng mga baboy sa Rizal ay hindi pa kinukumpirmang dahil sa ASF at hinihintay pa ang resulta ng isinagawang laboratory tests.
