“Pork-free” 2020 national budget tiniyak ng Kamara

Siniguro ng liderato ng Kamara na walang pork barrel na nakasingit sa panukalang P4.1 Trillion national budget sa susunod na taon.

Ayon kay House Speaker Alan Cayetano, ang mga kagawaran ang naglalagay ng mga pondo sa mga district projects at isinusumite sa mga district engineers.

Sinabi naman ni House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez na tatalima ang Kamara sa ruling ng Supreme Court na nagdedeklarang unconstitutional ang anumang uri ng pork barrel.

Istrikto anyang ipapatupad ang line item budgeting at tinitiyak ang transparency gayundin ang accountability sa pamamahagi ng public funds.

Ayon naman kay House Ways ang Means Committee Chair Joey Salceda, “no fat, boneless, at pure meat” ang pambansang pondo sa susunod na taon.

Sa panukalang budget sa susunod na taon naglaan din ng pondo para sa social services- P56 Billion para sa Universal Health Care; P34 Billion para sa Salary Standardization Law; P10 Billion Rice Tarrification Law; at P650 Million para naman sa pagtatatag ng Department of Housing.
