Mga estudyante ng UP nagtakda ng ‘day of walkout’ sa Aug. 20
Itinakda ng mga mag-aaral ng University of the Philippines (UP) ang August 20 bilang ‘day of walkout and action’.
Ito ay para tutulan ang anila’y pagpasok ng militar at pulisya sa mga paaralan.
Sa memorandum na may petsang August 14 ng Office of the Student Regent (OSR) nakasaad na ang panukalang police at military intervention sa state universities ay magreresulta lamang sa massive surveillance at pag-monitor sa galaw ng mga mag-aaral, faculty at mga opisyal.
Sinabi ng OSR na aalisan sila ng kanilang academic freedom kapag natuloy ang pagtatalaga ng pulis at militar sa mga paaralan.
Maari din umano itong magresulta sa harassment.
Maituturing umanong mistulang matial law na sa unibersidad kapag itinuloy ang plano.
