Alkalde ng Naga, Cebu sinuspinde sa kasong graft

Sinuspinde ng Sandiganyana Sixth Division si Naga, Cebu Mayor Valdemar Chiong dahil sa kasong graft.

Sa inilabas na resolusyon, 90 araw sinuspinde si Chiong dahil sa kinakaharap na umano’y paglabag sa Republic Act 3019 o Anti Gract and Corrupt Practices Act.

Ito ay kaugnay sa umano’y pagbibigay ng business permit sa Petronas Energy Philippines Inc. noong April 2014 kahit wala itong Fire Safety Inspection Certificate mula sa Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Ipinadala ang kopya ng suspension order sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) para maipatupad.

Si Chiong ay tumakbo sa nakalipas na 2019 midterm elections sa ilalim ng Nacionalista Party at nanalo laban kay Delfin Señor.
