Jaro bishop nanawagan ng aksyon para hindi na maulit ang Iloilo-Guimaras tragedy
Isang Catholic bishop ang nanawagan sa gobyerno na gumawa ng mga hakbang upang hindi na maulit ang malagim na paglubog ng tatlong bangka sa Iloilo-Guimaras Strait noong Sabado.
Nagpahayag ng kalungkutan si Jaro Archbishop Jose Romeo Lazo sa pagkasawi ng 31 katao.
Ipinaabot ng arsobispo ang pakikiramay sa pamilya ng mga biktima at simpatya sa mga survivors sa aksidente.
“We condole with families of those victims who died, and we sympathize with those who survived the accident. We call on the government for immediate action to prevent these accidents happen again,” ani Lazo.
Una rito, sinibak na ang ilang tauhan ng Philippine Coast Guard at Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) habang isinasagawa ang imbetigasyon sa insidente.
Nanawagan naman si Lazo ng panalangin sa gitna ng nararanasang pagdadalamhati.
Pinasalamatan ng arsobispo ang lahat ng tumulong search and retrieval operations ng mga biktima at sa lahat ng nagbigay ng ayuda.
