Inakusahan ni Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon ang diswalipikadong Duterte Youth partylist candidate na si Ronald Cardema na nasa likod ng mga pagbabanta sa kanyang buhay.
Sa isang pulong balitaan araw ng Miyerkules, pinaghihinalaan ni Guanzon ang kampo ni Cardema na nagpapadala ng banta sa kanya sa pamamagitan ng text messages.
Ito ay makaraang magdesisyon ang Comelec first division na ibasura ang nominasyon ni Cardema bilang kinatawan ng Duterte youth partylist dahil sa ‘misrepresentation’.
Ayon kay Guanzon. ‘very specific’ at tamang-tama ang timing ng mga bantang kanyang natatanggap.
“The first time was like ‘Pag hindi mo kami pinaupo.’ The second threat starts with something like ‘Kunyari ka pa, hindi ikaw ang gumawa.’ because I said I was not the ponente right? So the timing is perfect. Sabi niya he doesn’t even have my phone number, everybody can get my number,”
Binalaan ni Guanzon si Cardema na itigil na ang pagbabanta dahil mananagot ito sa kanya.
Ayon sa Comelec commissioner, dinadamay na ang kanyang pamilya na wala namang kinalaman sa kanyang trabaho.
“Stop threatening me! I received messages. Mr. Cardema denied this a week ago but these recent text messages are worst because they involved my family. If you threaten me that’s fine. But if you threaten my family who have nothing to do with my work, that’s another matter, you will answer to me,” ani Guanzon.
Dapat anyang lumabas sa publiko si Cardema upang sagutin ang kanyang mga akusasyon.
“Whether or not he is directly responsible for it, I still believe Mr. Cardema should come out to the public and deny it because I want to hear him answer my accusation that his group or gang are threatening harm to myself and members of my family,” dagdag ng commissioner.
Ang pagbasura sa pagiging first nominee ni Cardema ng Duterte Youth partylist ay dahil 34-anyos na ito.
Sa ilalim ng Party-list System Act, ang nominee ng isang youth sector ay dapat hindi hihigit sa 30 taon sa araw ng halalan.
