MMDA, aapela sa korte kasunod ng pagpapatigil sa provincial bus ban

Maghahain ng apela ang Metro Manila Develoment Authority (MMDA) sa Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Brach 223 makaraang ibasura nito ang implementasyon ng provincial bus ban sa EDSA.

Kasunod ito ng paghahanda ng transport regulator na ipatupad ang dry run ng bus ban sa August 7.

Ayon kay MMDA EDSA traffic chief Bong Nebrija, kokonsulta sila sa Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) kung ang preliminary injuction na inilabas ng korte ay sakop ang pilot test sa susunod na linggo.

Magugunita na noong nakaraang linggo ay nagdesisyon ang korte sa Quezon City na pigilin ang bus ban dahil wala itong kontretong basehan.

Itinakda naman ang ban makaraang maglabas ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ng Memorandum Circular No. 2019-31 noong July kung saa sinususugan ang ruta ng mga pampasaherong bus.

Mahigit isang taon ng pinaplan o ng MMDA ang naturang dry run at nagmamadali na sila dahil mayroon lamang silang limang buwan ng palugit para ayusin ang trapiko sa EDSA.
