M6.6 na lindol tumama sa Vanuatu

Niyanig ng magnitude 6.6 na lindol ang bansang Vanuatu alas-11:03 ng gabi oras sa Pilipinas.

Ayon sa US Geological Survey, ang episentro ng lindol ay sa layong 178 kilometro Hilagang-Kanluran ng Port Vila.

May lalim ang pagyanig na 179 kilometers.

Posible umanong nagkaroon ng bahagyang pinsala sa mga ari-arian at may mga nasaktan sa pagyanig.

Samantala, sa advisory naman ng Phivolcs at Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, sinabing walang banta ng tsunami matapos ang malakas na lindol.

Ang Vanuatu ay bahagi ng ‘Pacific Ring of Fire’ kung saan kadalasang may nagaganap na tectonic ativitiy dahil sa mga lindol at volcanic eruptions.
