Obispo suportado ang pagsuspinde ni Duterte sa Lotto, gaming outlets
Sinegundahan ng isang obispo ang desisyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na ipahinto ang operasyon ng lotto at iba pang gaming outlets dahil sa isyu ng korapsyon.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos na lahat ay panalo sa desisyon ng pangulo at naitaguyod sa hakbang na ito ang moralidad.
“It is very inspiring and encouraging decision of the president to cancel, stop Lotto outlets. “All are winners, better future is secured, and morality is uphold,” ani Bishop Santos.
Iginiit ng obispo na isang bisyo at adiksyon ang sugal na posibleng maging dahilan ng krimen at korapsyon.
“Gambling is vice, an addiction that will only lead to crime and corruption,” dagdag ni Bishop Santos.
Umaasa si Bishop Santos na magpapatuloy ang kampanya kontra sugal ng pangulo.
“We pray and hope that the president will remain steadfast to stop lotto, and continue to eradicate any form of gambling in our country,” ayon sa obispo.
Samantala, dahil sa suspensyon ng gaming operations ng PCSO, may posibilidad na dumami ang bilang ng tao na humingi ng tulong sa Simbahan ayon kay Santos.
Tiniyak ni Bishop Santos na handa ang Simbahang Katolika na tulungan ang mga nangangailangan lalo na ang mahihirap.
“With stoppage of Lotto is a challenge for the Church to do more for the poor, inspiration for her to be more ready to help, to assist our people especially the needy and the poor,” ani Santos.
