Voter registration, sisimulan ng Comelec sa August 1

Itinakda na ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang pagsisimula ng voter registration sa August 1, 2019.

Ito ay sa kabila ng pahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na pagnanais na ipagpaliban ang 2020 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections sa kaniyang ikaapat na State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Sa Twitter, inanunsiyo ni Comelec spokesman James Jimenez na ang pagbubukas ng voter registration period ay mula August 1 hanggang September 30, 2019.

Sinabi rin ni Jimenez na bukas ang Comelec field offices mula araw ng Lunes hanggang Sabado.

Magkakaroon din aniya ng mga satellite registrations sa mga mall.

Noong October 2017, pinirmahan ng pangulo ang Republic Act 10952 na nagpaliban sa October 23, 2017 Barangay and SK elections at naurong sa ikalawang Lunes ng May 2018.
