Malakanyang: Papel ng OSG sa sedition case vs Robredo hindi illegal

Walang nakikitang illegal ang palasyo ng malakanyang sa ginawang pagtulong ng Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) sa Philippine National Police para ayusin ang affidavit ni Peter Joemel Advincula o alyas Bikoy para kasuhan ng sedition si Vice President Leni Robredo at iba pang mga taga oposisyon.

Inaakusahan kasi si Robredo na may partisipasyon sa pagpapalabas ng Ang Totoong Narcolist videos na nagdadawit sa pamilya ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa operasyon sa illegal na droga at tanggkang pagpapabagsak sa kanyang administrasyon.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, bilang abogado ng estado tungkulin ng OSG na magbigay ng legal assistance sa PNP at iba pang tanggapan ng gobyerno para sa mga kasong binubuo ng pamahalaan.

Ayon kay Panelo, kahit na tumulong ang OSG sa PNP, wala pa ring kinalaman ang palasyo ng malakanyang lalo na ang Pangulo sa naturang kaso.

“When I said the Palace was not involved, it’s not really involved even now. But you know, the SolGen is the lawyer of the Republic of the Philippines and all its clients are all office and agencies of the government. Now, it is mandated under the law to counsel, to give lawyering activities to any of the offices when its office is consulted. There’s nothing wrong with that because it’s the duty of the SolGen on a lawyer-client relationship,” ani Panelo.

Bukod kay Robredo, kasama rin sa asunto sina Senadora Leila de Lima, Rissa Hontiveros at dating Senador Antonio Trillanes IV.
