NWRB: 36 cms na suplay ng tubig para sa Metro Manila mananatili sa Agosto

Mananatiling below normal ang alokasyon ng tubig para sa Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) sa Agosto ayon sa National Water Resources Board (NWRB).

Sa isang pahayag araw ng Miyerkules, sinabi ni NWRB Executive Director Sevillo David na ito ay dahil nananatiling mababa at patuloy na nababawasan ang lebel ng tubig sa Angat Dam.

Sa pinakahuling datos ng PAGASA-Hydrology Division, nasa 161.36 meters ang antas ng tubig sa Angat Dam.

Ayon kay David, mataas lang ito ng higit isang metro sa critical level para sa domestic supply at lubhang mas mababa naman sa minimum operating level ng dam na 180 meters.

“The current level of 161.36 meters is a little more than a meter above the critical level for water supply of 160 meters and way below the minimum operating level of 180 meters. With the situation, the 36 cubic meters per second (cms) will be maintained for August,” ani David.

Dahil dito, mananatili ang 36 cubic meters per second (cms) na alokasyon para sa MWSS.

Ang normal na alokasyon para sa MWSS ay 46 cms.

Nauna nang sinabi ng NWRB na sakaling maabot ng Angat Dam ang 180-meter mark, maaaring ikonsidera na ibalik ang normal water allocation sa Metro Manila.

Gayunman, sa kabila ng mga pag-ulan ay hindi naging malaki ang pag-angat ng lebel ng tubig sa dam.
