Duterte ipasusunog ang mga establisyimentong nagpaparumi sa Manila Bay
Ipinangako ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na mabibigyan ng relokasyon ang informal settlers sa Manila Bay.
Sa kanyang ikaapat na State of the Nation Address (SONA) araw ng Lunes, aminado si Duterte na mahaba pa ang tatahakin ng gobyerno sa rehabilitasyon sa Manila Bay.
Umaasa ang presidente na mailipat sa ilalim ng kanyang administrasyon ang mga informal settlers at maipasara ang mga establisyimento na patuloy na nagpaparumi sa mga katubigan ng Manila Bay.
Sinabi ni Duterte na hindi siya magdadalawang-isip na sunugin ang mga establisyimento na nagdudulot ng polusyon sa makasaysayang dagat.
“Make a choice. I’m going to the… I’m going to dismantle your burning — ah building or just simply burn it down so that we can have a new set-up of environmentally friendly, whatever that means,” ani Duterte.
Inutusan ng presidente ang mga lokal na pamahalaan na epektibong ipatupad ang environmental laws para mapangalagaan ang kapaligiran.
“There are those who violate environmental rules. I am giving due notice to the LGUs and other stakeholders, kayo po, of tourist destinations to take extra steps in the enforcement of our laws and the protection of our environment,” ayon sa pangulo.
Kasunod nito ay ipinagmalaki ng presidente ang ginawang paglilinis at rehablitasyon sa Boracay Island sa loob ng anim na buwan.
