Pangulong Duterte, hinikayat ang Kamara na ipagpaliban ang Brgy. & SK elections

Hinikayat ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso na ipagpaliban ang May 2020 Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections.

Sa kaniyang ikaapat na State of the Nation Address (SONA) sa Batasan Complex, sa halip na sa susunod na taon, ipagpaliban ang eleksyon sa taong 2022.

Paliwanag ng pangulo, ito ay para mabigyan ng sapat na panahon ang mga opisyal ng barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan sa pagpapatupad ng kani-kanilang proyekto.

Matatandaang inihain ni Isabela 6th District Rep. Faustino “Inno” Dy ang House Bill No. 47 o “An Act Postponing the May 2020 Barangay and SK Elections.”
