CJ Bersamin, iba pang SC justices dadalo sa SONA
Kinumpirma ni Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin kahapon, araw ng Biyernes ang kanyang pagdalo sa ikaapat na State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Lunes, July 22.
Ayon sa punong mahistrado, ito na ang huling SONA na kanyang dadaluhan bago magretiro sa Oktubre.
Bukod dito, sinabi ni Bersamin na isang national event ang SONA para sa lahat ng Filipino lalo na sa mga tulad nilang lingkod-bayan.
“Yes, I will be attending. You know before I became Chief Justice I attended one SONA only but this is the last SONA that I will attend because I will be retiring afterwards. I look forward to the SONA because that is really a national event for all Filipinos and especially for us who are serving the government in one capacity or another,” ani Bersamin.
Kinumpirma na rin ni Bersamin ang pagdalo ng mayorya sa mga mahistrado ng Korte Suprema.
Nang tanungin kung ano ang nais niyang marinig mula kay Duterte, sinabi ng punong mahistrado na ayaw niyang pangunahan ang presidente.
Iginiit naman ni Bersamin na nagpapakita ng political will ang presidente na dahilan naman ng mataas na ratings sa mga survey.
“Alam ninyo itong Presidente natin ay napakalawak ng kanyang karanasan at kung napapansin ninyo kaya siya siguro mataas ang ratings sa survey dahil hands-on siya saka pinakita niya yung unusual na political will,” dagdag ni Bersamin.
Itinalaga ni Pangulong Duterte si Bersamin noong November 2018 bilang chief justice kapalit ni Teresita Leonardo-De Castro.
