Panukalang batas para i-renew ang prangkisa ng TV 5 at CBCP, nag-lapse into law

Bigo si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na pirmahan ang panukalang batas na i-renew ang prangkisa ng TV 5 Network Incorporated ng 25 taon at Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

Dahil sa hindi nalagdaan ni Pangulong Duterte sa loob ng 30 araw ay otomatikong magiging batas na ito.

Parehong nag-lapse into law noong April 22, 2019 ang Republic Act 11320 na nagpapalawig ng prangkisa ng TV 5 at Republic Act 11319 para naman sa prangkisa ng CBCP.
Dahil dito, patuloy na magagamit ng TV 5 at CBCP ang kani-kanilang radio at television broadcast channels pero kinakailangan pa rin na kumuha ng lisensya at permit sa National Telecommunications Commission.

Nakasaad kasi sa section 27 ng article 6 ng 1987 constitution na otomatikong magiging batas ang isang panukala kapag hindi nalagdaan ng pangulo sa loob ng 30 araw oras na matanggap na sa Office of the President.

Nakatakdang maging epektibo ang batas 15 araw matapos ang official publication nito sa mga pahayagan.
