Duterte ikinukunsiderang putulin ang ugnayan ng Pilipinas sa Iceland
Seryosong ikinukunsidera ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na putulin na ang ugnayan ng Pilipinas sa Iceland matapos ang inihain na resolusyon sa United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) para imbestigahan ang sitwasyon ng karapatang pantao sa bansa.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, seryosong ikinukunsidera ng Pangulo na putulin ang diplomatic relations ng bansa sa Iceland.
“PRRD [President Rodrigo Roa Duterte] is seriously considering cutting diplomatic relations with Iceland,” ani Panelo.
Iginiit ni Panelo na “one-sided” ang resolusyon ng Iceland na pinaburan ng 18 bansa na miyembro ng UNHRC.
May halo anya itong pulitika at pagbastos sa soberanya ng Pilipinas.
“The adopted Iceland resolution is grotesquely one-sided, outrageously narrow, and maliciously partisan. It reeks of nauseating politics completely devoid of respect for the sovereignty of our country. It is bereft of the gruesome realities of the drug menace in the country,” dagdag ng Kalihim.
Sinabi pa ng opisyal na ang Iceland resolution ay base sa maling impormasyon at hindi kumpirmadong fact at figures.
“The resolution likewise demonstrates how the Western powers are scornful of our sovereign exercise of protecting our people from the scourge of prohibited drugs that threaten to destroy the fabric of our society. Their intrusive abuse is patent and condemnable,” pahayag pa ni Panelo.
Naniniwala rin si Panelo na ginawa ang resolusyon para ipahiya ang Pilipinas sa harap ng international community.
