BOC: P10-B dagdag buwis mula sa bigas kayang abutin
On track ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa pag-abot sa P10 Billion rice import tarrification collection target ngayong taon.
Ayon kay Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, sa kasalukuyan ay nakapagtala na ang ahensya ng P5.889 Billion na koleksyon.
Bukod dito, tumaas din ang mga privately imported rice ng 966,690 metric tons mula buwan ng Marso hanggang Hunyo 2019.
Mas mataas ito kumpara sa 185,100 metric tons sa kaparehong buwan sa taong 2018.
Nag-aangkat naman ang bansa ng 256,445 metric tons ng bigas kada buwan mula sa dating 46,275 metric tons noong nakaraang taon.
Ibibigay naman ang makokolektang pera sa Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) tumutulong sa mga magsasakang makapagtanim muli.
Ang ginagawang koleksyon ay sa bisa ng Republic Act No. 11203 o Rice Import Tariffication Law na ipinatupad noong March 5, 2019.
