Pilipinas pang-apat sa pinaka-delikadong lugar sa buong mundo para sa mga sibilyan

Pang-apat ang Pilipinas sa mga bansa sa buong mundo kung saan pinaka-delikado ang mga sibilyan ayon sa isang US-based data group.

Ayon sa Armed Conflict Location and Event Project (Acled), pang-apat ang bansa dahil sa war on drugs ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kung saan nasa three-fourth ang mga sibilyan na napatay base sa monitoring ng grupo.

“The Philippines remains one of the most dangerous places in the world for civilians,” wrote Acled, which was established in 2014 and described itself as “the highest quality, most widely used, real-time data and analysis source on political violence and protest around the world.”

Kinumpirma sa report na may target ang mga pag-atake na nagresulta sa pagkamatay ng 490 na sibilyan sa simula pa lamang ng 2019.

“President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs has driven this violence, with alleged drug suspects accounting for almost 75 percent of this year’s civilian deaths. In addition to operations against drug suspects, political rivalries drive anti-civilian violence in the country as well,” nakasaad sa proyekto.

Bukod sa mga drug suspects, ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno ang ikalawang target na grupo ng mga sibilyan na kalimitan ay pinatay ng mga kalaban sa pulitika.

Naka-sentro ang mga pagpatay sa mga sibilyan sa Central Luzon at Calabarzon habang 10 porsyento ang naitala sa Metro Manila.
