Pilipinas umangat ang pwesto sa World Peace Index

Bahagyang gumanda ang ranggo ng Pilipinas sa listahan ng most peaceful countries sa buong mundo.

Batay sa 2019 Global Peace Index, pang-134 ang Pilipinas sa 163 bansa, o tatlong pwesto na mas mataas mula sa pang-137 noong nakaraang taon.

Sa Asia-Pacific, ang Pilipinas ay pang-18 sa least peaceful countries na halos nakikipaggitgitan sa North Korea sa pinakamababang pwesto.

Least peaceful din ang Pilipinas sa Southeast Asia kung saan pinakapayapang bansa ang Singapore na pampito sa overall 2019 GPI.

Ang GPI ay inilalabas ng Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) sa Sydney kung saan niraranggo ang bawat bansa sa antas ng kapayapaan batay sa tatlong salik: level of safety and security; extent of ongoing domestic and international conflict; at degree of militarization.

Kabilang ang Pilipinas sa siyam na bansa na may mataas na panganib ng multiple climate hazards ayon sa IEP.

Samantala, nananatiling pinakamapayapang bansa sa buong mundo ang Iceland na hawak na ang pwesto mula pa taong 2008.

Least peaceful countries naman ang Afghanistan, Syria, South Sudan, Yemen at Iraq.
