Pagpasok ng East Timor sa Asean suportado ng Pilipinas
Nagbigay ng suporta ang Pilipinas sa bansang Timor Leste sa pormal nitong pagsanib sa Association of South East Asian Countries o Asean.
Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., sinusuportahan ng Pilipinas ang aplikasyon ng Timor Leste upang maging miyembro ng nasabing samahan.
Ito ay matapos manghingi ng suporta ni Timor Leste Prime Minister Dr. Dionisio Da Costa Babo Soares sa Pilipinas para sa pag-anib sa Asean.
Sa apat na araw na pagbisita ni Babo Soares, nag-usap rin ang mga naturang opisyal sa relasyon ng dalawang bansa na nagsimula noong 2002.
Ang Timor Leste ay kasalukuyang may observer status sa Asean at nagsumite ng pormal na full membership application sa samahan noong 2011.
