Mga power distributor may refund sa mga consumer ngayong Hulyo

Inutusan ng Energy Regulatory Commission ang lahat ng mga privately-owned electricity distribution utilities kabilang na ang Manila Electric Company (Meralco) na i-refund sa kanioang mga consumer ang hindi nagamit na Regulatory Reset Cost.

Sa kanilang memorandum, sinabi ng ERC na dapat mag-reflect sa July billing ang nasabing refund.

Ang Regulatory Reset Cost ay bahagi ng pondo na ginagamit ng mga power distributor na pondo para sa pag-aaral ng electricity rates at pambayad sa kanilang mga kinukuhang consultants at mga eksperto sa industriya ayon sa ERC.

Inaasahang aabot sa P0.04 hanggang P0.08 per kilowatt hour (kWh) ang nasabing refund.

Sa ilalim ng mga umiiral na batas ay pinapayagan ang mga power distributor na maningil ng Regulatory Reset Cost sa kanilang mga consumer.

“The Commission is of the view that the cost of regulation should be at the expense of the government and should not be a burden to the electricity consumers,” ayon kay ERC Chairperson Agners Devenadera.

Sinabi naman ng Meralco na kaagad silang susunod sa nasabing kautusan ng ERC.
