Pumalag ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa pagdadawit ni Buhay Party-List Rep. Lito Atienza kay Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade sa pagpili ng House Speaker sa 18th Congress.
Sa pahayag ng DOTr, inihayag nito na hindi nakikialam ang ahensya o si Secretary Tugade sa internal affairs ng sangay ng lehislatura.
Bukod dito, wala din anila silang plano na panghimasukan ito.
Sinabi ng DOTr na iginagalang nila ang separation of powers sa pagitan ng tatlong sangay ng pamahalaan.
Nakasaad sa pahayag na nananatiling nakatutok ang ahensya sa paggawa ng mga polisiya at proyekto para sa sektor ng transportasyon upang maiangat ang buhay ng Pilipino.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Atienza na ilang mga miyembro ng gabinete ang umanoy nanghihimasok sa pagpili ng susunod na Speaker.
