DOH naalarma sa pagdami ng mga batang may bulate sa tiyan sa Bicol

Dumarami ang bilang ng mga batang nagkaka-bulate sa tiyan sa Bicol Region.

Ayon sa Department of Health (DOH), 6 sa bawat 10 bata o 67 percent ng mga bata na may edad 1 hanggang 18 ang apektado ng intestinal parasitic worm infection.

Sinabi ni Francia Genorga, coordinator ng DOH Soil-Transmitted Helminthiasis, ang Bicol ang may pinakamataas na kasi ng naturang infection.

Base ito sa 2013 hanggang 2015 study ng STH.

Ang iba pang rehiyon na may mataas na kaso ng intestinal worms at ang Central Visayas (55%), Mimaropa (40%), ARMM (37%), Central Luzon (32%), Zamboanga Peninsula (27%), Caraga (22%), at NCR (21%).

Ang Cordillera Autonomous Region naman ang may pinakamababang kaso na seven percent lang.

Aminado si Genorga na nakaaalarma ang kondisyong ito ng mga bata sa rehiyon.
