DTI: Recto Bank incident walang epekto sa trade relations ng Pilipinas at China

Hindi maaapektuhan ang trade relations sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at China ng pagbangga ng Chinese vessel sa bangkang pangisda ng dalawampu’t dalawang mangingisdang Filipino sa Recto Bank sa West Philippine Sea.

Sa Pre-Sona Economic and Infrastructure forum sa Pasay City, sinabi ni Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez na ‘private parties’ ang sangkot sa insidente.

Hindi pa rin aniya kumpleto ang commercial investments dahil mayroon pang mga nakahilerang investment sa dalawang bansa.

Dahil dito, magpapatuloy aniya ang maayos sa trading at investment relationship ng Pilipinas at China.

Matatandaang naganap ang insidente sa Recto Bank noong June 9, 2019.

Nagresulta rin ito sa paghahain ng diplomatic protest ng Pilipinas laban sa China.

Umaasa naman ang DTI na hindi na mauulit ang kahalintulad na insidente sa bahagi ng West Philippine Sea.
