Ang appointment ay kinumpirma ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra Biyernes ng gabi.
Si Malcontento, gaya ni Duterte, ay graduate mula sa San Beda College of Law.
Nadagdag si Malcontento sa iba pang San Beda alumni na itinalaga ng Pangulo sa key positions sa gobyerno.
Si Malcontento, partner sa Kho Malcontento and Associates Law Office, ay papalitan si Victor Sepulveda.
Mandato ng National Prosecution Service na tulungan ang kalihim ng Department of Justice (DOJ) sa pagtupad ng mga trabaho sa ahensya kaugnay sa pagiging prosecution arm ng gobyerno partikular sa imbestigasyon at prosekusyon ng mga kasong kriminal.
