Robredo nagpasalamat sa Vietnam envoy kaugnay ng pagligtas sa 22 mangingisda
Personal na nagpasalamat si Vice President Leni Robredo kay Vietnamese Ambassador Ly Quoc Tuan para sa pagliligtas ng mga kababayan nito sa 22 mangingisda ng Gem-Ver 1 na binangga at inabandona ng Chinese vessel sa Recto Bank.
Nakapulong ni Robredo si Ly mismong sa kanyang opisina sa Quezon City Reception House.
Kwento ni Robredyo sa envoy, paulit-ulit na binanggit ng mga mangingisdang Pinoy na kung hindi dahil sa mga Vietnamese na nagligtas sa kanila ay maaaring nasawi na sila.
Pinsalamatan ni Robredo ang Vietnam hindi lamang para sa mga mangingisda kundi para sa sambayanang Pilipino.
“If you listen to the stories, they were really very thankful to the Vietnamese. They kept on repeating that were it not for them, they would have died already . . . Thank you on behalf of, not just on behalf of the fishermen, but on behalf of the people of the Philippines,” ani Robredo.
Umaasa si Robredo na lalo pang mapagtitibay ang ugnayan ng Vietnam at Pilipinas sa hinaharap.
