Sylvia Sanchez at Aiko Melendez, tie sa Best Actress award; Ronwaldo Martin, Best Actor sa 2nd SBIFF

Winner ng Best Actress award sina Slyvia Sanchez sa pelikulang “Jesusa,” at Aiko Melendez sa pelikulang “Tell Me Your Dreams” sa ikalawang taon ng Subic Bay International Film Festival (SBIFF).

Hinirang naman bilang Best Actor si Ronwaldo Martin para sa pelikulang “1957.”

Ang SBIFF ay binuo at pinangungunahan nina Vic V. Vizcocho Jr. at Arlyn Dela Cruz-Bernal. Isinagawa ang awards night nitong Hunyo 23, araw ng Linggo sa Harbor Point, Ayala sa Olongapo City.

Narito ang listahan ng iba pang nagwagi sa film festival:

Best in Production Design – Jimmy Tablizo and Roland Rubenecia (Kids of War)

Best Film Editing – Gilbert Obispo (Kids of War)

Best in Cinematography – Arvin Viola (Tell Me Your Dreams)

Best in Screenplay – Hubert Tibi (1957)

Best Supporting Actor – Richard Quan (1957)

Best Supporting Actress – Ynez Veneracion (Jesusa)

Best Director – Hubert Tibi (1957)

Best Picture – Kids of War

Nagpasya rin ang board of judges sa pangunguna ng filmmaker na si Moira Lang na magbigay ng dalawang special awards.

Ito ay ang Future of Cinema Award para kina Rose Galang para sa pelikulang “Tell Me Your Dreams” at Shane Patrick Carrera para sa pelikulang “Kids of War” at Discovery Award para sa pelikulang “Rendezvous.”

Ang 2nd SBIFF ay naging makulay din dahil sa Superstar na si Nora Aunor na ginawaran ng Icon in Philippine Cinema.

Sa kaniyang talumpati, sinabi ni Nora Aunor na ipagpapatuloy niya ang pagsuporta sa industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino.

Special awardees din sina Perla Bautista at Romy Vitug para sa Philippine Cinema Legacy Award.
