Piñol: Nagpasalamat sa Vietnamese fishermen kahit iligal ang presensya sa Recto Bank
Iginiit ni Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol na iligal ang presensya ng mga banyaga sa Recto Bank.
Sa pulong balitaan sa Occidental Mindoro, araw ng Miyerkules sinabi ni Piñol na ang pangingisda sa loob ng Recto Bank na bahagi ng exclusive economic zone ng bansa ay iligal.
“They were actually poaching, including the Vietnamese that actually aided us. I’m sorry to say that,” ani Piñol.
Gayunpaman, nagpasasalamat ng kalihim sa mga Vietnamese sa pagligtas sa mga Pinoy kahit na wala dapat sila sa nasabing teritoryo.
“Salamat sa mga Vietnamese sa pagtulong pero you are not supposed to be there but thank God you were there. That was an illegal act that was actually providential,” ani Piñol.
Sinabi ni Piñol na napagkasunduan sa cluster meeting na pasalamatan ang Vietnamese fishermen.
Para naman sa Chinese crew na nag-abandona sa mga Pinoy, sinabi ni Piñol na nararapat ang kaso laban sa mga ito.
“Dapat kasuhan talaga, unang-una kasalanan nila, iniwanan nila ang ating mga fishermen,” giit ng kalihim.
