UP nananatiling top university sa bansa

Nananatiling top university sa bansa ang University of the Philippines (UP).

Ito ay makaraang tumaas ang ranggo nito sa pinakahuling Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.

Mula sa ika-384 pwesto taong 2018, tumaas ang UP ng 28 pwesto sa ranggo nitong ika-356 ngayong taon.

Ayon sa UP Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, natatangi ang Pilipinas sa 16 Southeast Asian institutions na napabilang sa unang bahagi ng listahan.

Naging batayan sa ranggo ng mga unibersidad ang mga sumusunod:

– academic reputation (40%)

– employer reputation (10%)

– faculty-student ratio (20%)

– citations per faculty (20%)

– international faculty ratio (5%) at

– international student ratio (5%)

Pasok sa top 10 universities ang mga sumusunod:

  1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  2. Stanford University
  3. Harvard University
  4. University of Oxford
  5. California Institute of Technology
  6. ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology)
  7. University of Cambridge
  8. UCL (University College London)
  9. Imperial College London
  10. University of Chicago

Samantala, ang iba pang unibersidad sa Pilipinas na napabilang sa world rankings ay ang Ateneo de Manila University na nasa number 601 hanggang 650 habang ang University of Santo Tomas at De La Salle University ay nasa number 801 hanggang 1,000.
