China handang makiisa sa imbestigasyon sa Recto Bank incident

Inihayag ng China na nakahanda silang makipagtulungan sa Pilipinas para sa imbestigasyon kaugnay sa naganap na insidente sa Recto Bank sakop ng West Philippine Sea noong June 9.

May kaugnayan ito sa pagbangga ng isang malaking Chinese fishing boat sa Pinoy fishing vessel na Gim-Ver 1.

“We are ready… [to] increase understanding, dispel mistrust and find out what actually happened” ayon kay Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang.

Sinabi rin ng Chinese official na nakikisimpatya sila sa sinapit ng mga mangingisdang Pinoy.

Gayunman ay nanindigan si Lu na ang nangyari ay isang “accidental collision” pero kinakailangan pa ring imbestigahan para hindi na lumaki pa ang nasabing hindi pagkakaunawaan.

Samantala, sa kanyang pagsasalita sa United Nations ngayong araw ay nanindigan si Foreign Affairs Sec.Teodoro Locsin Jr.na mali ang ginawa ng mga Chinese fisherman na abandonahin ang mga Pinoy sa gitna ng karagatan.

“The rescue of persons in distress is a universally recognized obligation of people and governments; and in civil law and, maybe even in common law, it is a felony to abandon people in distress, especially when we cause that distress; and more so when it is no bother at all to save them at no risk to oneself,” ayon kay Locsin.

Nauna dito ay naghain na rin ng diplomatic protest ang DFA sa China kaugnay sa nasabing pangyayari.
