Pinalitan ng bagong buong Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) ang Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) para habulin ang mga pulis na sangkot sa mga ilegal na gawain.
Sinabi ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Oscar Albayalde na pamumunuan ni Police Col. Romeo Caramat ang bagong tatag na grupo.
Paliwanag nito, mandato ng IMEG na magsagawa ng intelligence build-up at arestuhin ang mga pulis na sangkot sa drug trafficking, human trafficking, financial crimes, cybercrime, malversation, graft and corrupt practices act at iba pang ilegal na gawain.
Bubuoin ng 55 na opisyal at 251 police non-commissioner officers ang IMEG at patuloy silang tatanggap ng suporta sa isang 72-man company ng PNP Special Action Force para magbigay ng tactical support.
Pagtitiyak ni Albayalde na ang mga pulis na nakatalaga sa IMEG ay pumasa sa matinding background investigation at screening process kasama ang ang neuro-psychiatric examination at nagtapos ng intelligence course.
