BFAR: Irong-Irong Bay sa Samar apektado ng red tide
Nagbabala ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) sa Eastern Visayas sa pagkuha, pagbili at pagkain ng shellfish mula sa Irong-Irong Bay sa Samar.
Ito ay dahil na-detect na positibo sa red tide toxins ang mga shellfish at alamang o hipon sa lugar.
Sa eksaminasyon ng provincial marine biotoxin laboratory ng BFAR-8 mula sa Catbalogan City, lumabas na ang tubig mula sa nasabing ilog ay positibo sa pyrodinium bahamense variety compressum.
Ayon sa ahensya, mas maiging hintayin mula ang resulta ng isinagawang confirmatory test ng BFAR Central Marine Biotoxin Laboratory sa Maynila.
Minomonitor na rin ng BFAR ang ilang pang mga dagat sa bansa kaugnay sa red tide toxins.
