Nadiskubre ng militar ang isang gun repair shop at factory habang nagsisilbi ng arrest warrant sa isang wanted na tao sa General SK Pendatun, Maguindanao.
Ayon kay Major General Cirilito Sobejana, Philippine Army 6th Infantry Division commander, nakita ang gun factory ng pinagsanib na tropa ng pulisya at militar sa Barangay Madconding sa gitna ng pag-aresto kay Sukarno Buka, sub-leader ng Islamic State-linked Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) para sa kasong attempted murder.
Pero ayon sa otoridad, nakatakas na si Buka bago makarating ang tropa ng gobyerno sa lugar.
Ang operasyon ay isinagawa ng 33rd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion at Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Maguindanao.
Ayon kay Lt. Col. Elmer Boongaling, 33rd IB commander, sinabi ng mga sibilyan at opisyal ng barangay na gumagawa si Buka ng mga baril para sa BIFF.
Sangkot din ang suspek sa illegal drug activities sa lugar.
Nakuha ng mga pulis at sundalo ang ilang hindi pa tapos na mga armas, equipment at ammunition.
Sinabi naman ni Col. Efren Baluyot, 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion, ang pagka-diskubre sa pagawaan ng mga baril ay nakaapekto na sa kakayahan ng BIFF na lumaban sa gobyerno.
