Board members ng PhilHealth nagsumite na ng ‘courtesy resignation’
Naghain na ng courtesy resignation ang board members ng PhilHealth araw ng Martes ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).
Kasunod ito ng utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na magbitiw sila sa pwesto makaraang madiskubre ang umano’y mga ghost dialysis claims.
Sa isang press conference araw ng Martes, sinabi ni Health Sec. Francisco Duque III na malinaw ang marching order ng pangulo na magbitiw agad ang board members at nais nito ng clean slate sa ahensya.
“The marching is order is quite clear and that again he (Duterte) expects that the letters of resignation will be filed the end of the day and he would like to study the challenges confronting PhilHealth,” ani Duque.
Isa na lamang ang hindi nakakapagsumite ng courtesy resignation sa mga board officials dahil nasa labas ito ng bansa.
Bukod sa board officials, 35 pang opisyal ng PhilHealth ang hinihingian din ng Malacañang ng courtesy resignation kabilang ang mga vice presidents at regional vice presidents.
Sa kabila ng pagbibitiw ng mga opisyal, iginiit ni Duque na hindi maaapektuhan ang serbisyo ng PhilHealth at maghahanap agad ng mga pansamantalang itatalaga sa pwesto.
Ang paghahain ng courtesy resignation ng board members ng PhilHealth ay kinumpirma na rin ng Palasyo ng Malacañang.
Ayon sa Palasyo, inalok na ni Duterte ang doktor at negosyanteng si Jaime Cruz para sa pagkapangulo ng PhilHealth ngunit hindi pa nito tinatanggap ang pwesto.
