PNP: Higit 6,000 lumabag sa gun ban kasabay ng election period

Umabot sa kabuuang 6,284 ang bilang ng mga naarestong lumabag sa gun ban sa kasagsagan ng election period, ayon sa Philippine National Police (PNP).

Naitala ng PNP ang datos mula January 13 hanggang June 9.

Maliban dito, nakumpiska ang 5,242 na armas at 49,859 na iba pang deadly weapon sa nasabing panahon.

Ito ay resulta ng mga ikinasang buy-bust at checkpoint operation sa bisa ng search at arrest warrant.

Sa press briefing sa Camp Crame, nagpasalamat si PNP spokesman Col. Bernard Banac sa naging kooperasyon ng publiko sa mga otoridad.

Nagsimula ang election period noong January 13 at nakatakdang magtapos ang gun ban ngayong Miyerkules, June 12.

Oras na matapos ang election gun ban, maaari nang magdala ang mga may-ari ng baril ng armas sa labas ng kanilang bahay basta’t balido ang kanilang permit to carry firearms.
